A quiet evening together watching the sun set

Date night feel like a bit too much?  No time to plan and need to make some smart budget decisions?  Working on the premise that your home is your castle (and if that doesn’t date me, nothing does!)?  How about some time in your castle (or palace or chateau)?

One of our favourite date night ideas is actually one of the easiest date nights to have. Date night at home!!  Now we’re pretty lucky here.  We have a spectacular view of the ocean from our home.  That is probably the # 1 reason why Kevin and I chose to  purchase this home 24 years ago.  And it never gets tired.  So, for this date night, we were  inspired by the beautiful sunset!  That happens pretty regularly actually. Sunsets and sunrises, the gifts that keep on giving!

Weather permitting, we sit either outside on the deck or in the living room and enjoy some music, some conversation and a great glass of wine while watching the day turn to night!  If the kids are no problem, we have often stretched this date night out to include a simple but special dinner, even ordering in on occasion (however, my favorite restaurant is my kitchen!).  But remember the rule for date night - have sex first!  It feels great, it is a natural relaxer, you will feel more connected with each other, and it helps work up a great appetite!  Everything, and I mean  EVERYTHING - is better after some intimate time together!

Depending on whether it is spur of the moment or planned, that will change the tone and the events of the evening.  For this date night, it was spur of the moment.  After our time together, we kind of don't want to lose our warm fuzzy feelings for each other so this meant that dinner was glorified leftovers from the night before, heated up in the microwave,  paired with a bottle of my favorite wine which I always have ready and chilled.  How wonderfully relaxing.  Conversation, food, drinks and cuddles are all a part of it, and then?  A great night’s sleep!
