A Little Pre Christmas Romance Gift for the 2 of Us!

Okay, I know this is being posted December 3rd. Advent started December 1st. Before you think “it’s too late!”. No it’s not. It is never too late for romance, for special time, for quality intentional and thoughtful consideration towards your partner. Start any day. We chose today.

Best part of starting “late” to advent calendars? Well the discounts, of course!

I was scrolling amazon in hopes to find something special for Kevin and I to do together for the days leading up to Christmas. You know, besides the obvious things, like writing a blog, or uploading tiktoks and instagram reels, or writing a new free ebook that will be out soon… Oh whoops, read the room Cindy!

Jokes aside, I don’t need a reason to get my husband a cardboard box with mini cutouts of miniature chocolate treats or other typical advent-type gifts. I wanted something special. Something that would provide us with ideas. Because let’s be real, brewing up ideas for each other after this many years together becomes a CHORE. Lo and behold, a search on the internet provided me with what I sought for. For roughly $20, I found “The Advent Calendar For Couples”. I mean, say less! Add to cart!  It arrived the next day and this is how it works:

Numbered windows, clearly marked from 1-24 are on the inside of this booklet.

Inside each window are three separate ideas: at least one idea and possibly 2 out of three are perhaps a little… fun, romantic, dare I say spicy? ideas.

Hang on - maybe in some windows all 3 have some kind of sexy ideas!

The rules say that you should choose only 1 per day, but you get to decide. And if you think about it and wanted to, this little booklet could last you for 3 Christmas Advents!

I of course immediately opened up all the windows and laughed out loud at some of the suggestions and blushed at others!  There are some really great ideas for sure - some are clearly for those in early romantic relationships which will likely count us out (like have sex 3 times in the next 24 hours), but I have to say that there is clearly an entertaining  and doable idea for each day.  Some of the more attainable ideas have honestly inspired some of our future Christmas Advent posts for later this month!

This is a super fun plan, and I really giggled at times while reading through it.

And if you really DON’T want to actually do anything, it might be entertaining (and enlightening!) reading through it together and talking about the ideas.  Or you could make the Advent Calendar last much longer that 24 days, but less than a year!  Perhaps trying one of the ideas once a week or once a month (for the more daring ideas) might be a fun thing to do with this as well.  Anyway you choose, this is a lighthearted (in most cases) look at having some fun with the couples advent calendar.  Be bold - try it out!
